Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) :-


Why in News?

Ninth installment of PM-KISAN released, According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, a total of Rs 19,509.27 crore was transferred to Bank accounts of 9.75 core beneficiary farmers across 32 States and Union Territories, towards the Ninth installment.

What is PM-KISAN?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is an initiative by the government of India in which all farmers will get up to ₹6,000 per year as minimum income support.

About PM-KISAN :-

1) The PM-KISAN scheme was announced on 1st February 2019.
2) Ministry - Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
3) All Farmers Irrespective of their Land holdings are eligible for PM-KISAN scheme.

Exclusion categories :-


a. All Institutional Land holders.
b. Farmer families in which one or more of its members belong to following sections.
1. Former and present holders of constitutional posts. 
2. Present or former ministers/ Loksabha/ Rajyasabha/ State Legislation/ Mayor's of Municipal Corporations/ chairpersons of district panchayats. 
3. All serving or retired officers and employees of Central / State Government Jobs (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff/Class D employees). 
4. All persons who paid Income tax in last assessment year. 
5. Leased land holders are not eligible. I. e. Tenant farmers. 
6. Land which is not used for agriculture are not eligible.
