The Pegasus, World's first wooden satellite, Assam - Mizoram dispute information for all exams

1. ASSAM MIZORAM BORDER DISPUTE:-


            The boundary dispute between these two states dates back nearly a century and half. It escalated to unprecedented levels on Monday, as firing on the inter state boundary left at least 6 Assam policemen dead and over 50 individuals injured.


About :-

1) Mizoram Borders Barak Valley of Assam and both border Bangladesh.

2) The boundary between two states is 165 km long.

3) Long ago Mizoram was a District of Assam and know as Lushai Hill.

4) The boundary between these two states was demarcated in 1875(Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulations Act 1873) and 1933.

5) Mizoram accepts the demarcation took place in 1875,where as Assam considers 1933 demarcation. Which is the centre of present dispute.


2.THE PEGASUS:-


         Pegasus is a spyware developed by the Israel based company Named NSO Group that can be covertly installed on mobile phones running most versions of iOS and Android.

About:-

1) It is type of Spyware developed by Israeli cyber arm firm NSO Group.

2) It can be installed in ios and Android version mobile phones.

3) It is capable of reading text messages, tracking calls, collecting passwords, location tracking etc.

4) It can be called as 'Trojan Horse' that can be sent flying through the air to infect phones.


3. WORLD'S FIRST WOODEN SATELLITE :-


          WISA Woodsat is a 10×10×10cm nano satellite built up from standardised boxes and surface panels made from plywood.

About:-

1) The European Space Agency has planned this programme to launch the world's first wooden satellites.

2) Planned to put Woodsat, on Earth's orbit by the of this year.

3) This mission is to test the applicability of wooden materials in space conditions.

4) It will be launched with a Rocket Lab Electron rocket from the Mahia Peninsula launch complex in New Zealand.

5) The satellite, designed and built in Finland will orbit at around 500-600km altitude in a Polar Sun Synchronous orbit.
